US import charges: use current official guidance
Why an old “under $800” shortcut is no longer a safe promise.
What changed
CBP says duty-free de minimis treatment was suspended effective August 29, 2025, subject to exceptions. Goods can face applicable duties, taxes, and fees.
What determines a charge
Treatment can depend on classification, origin, value, entry method, current measures, and carrier handling. A product page cannot provide a universal percentage.
Where to check
Use current CBP guidance and the actual carrier or broker information for the shipment. Do not rely on old agent threshold pages as current US law.
